Sailability is FOBH’s Adaptive Sailing Program, designed to make the joy of sailing accessible to people of all abilities. This fun, social sailing experience offers participants the freedom of being on the water in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment, guided by trained and experienced skippers.

Whether you are new to sailing or returning to the water, Sailability provides an opportunity to build confidence, connect with others, and experience the unique sense of independence that comes from harnessing the wind.

An Inclusive Sailing Experience

At FOBH, we believe sailing should be for everyone. Sailability removes barriers and opens the door to the water through thoughtfully designed facilities, specialized equipment, and a compassionate, skilled volunteer team.

Participants sail at their own pace, with support tailored to individual needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and enjoyment for all.

Accessible Facilities & Specialized Equipment

Sailability features purpose-built accessibility to ensure a seamless and dignified experience from dock to water:

  • Wheelchair-Friendly Dock: Easy access from shore to boat, designed to accommodate mobility devices safely and comfortably.

  • C-Crane Lift System: Allows for smooth, secure transfers from wheelchair to boat seat with minimal physical strain.

  • Hansa 303 SailboatsSafe, stable, and responsive boats specifically designed for adaptive sailing. The Hansa 303 is ideal for sailors of all abilities, offering exceptional stability, comfort, and control.

Safe, Supportive, and Social

Every Sailability session is led by experienced skippers and trained volunteers who prioritize safety while creating a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere. Beyond sailing, the program fosters connection, laughter, and a shared love of being on the water.
